On the way out of P.E.I we picked up a bag of P.E.I. irish potatoes-yum....and went back over that long-long bridge. Nova Scotia wasn't that that far, just a few minutes through New brunswick and your there. First thoughts was no one lives here. After the visitor Center there are miles of just hill and trees. we drove south to a campground northwest of Halifax and stayed the night.
Next morning we drove noth west to Windsor (I think the 5th we have driven through on this trip) to see the south side of the bay of Fundy. From there we went south west and found a u-pick apple farm and we picked about 12lbs of 2 types of apple.....again yummy. We drove south from there to the historical fishing village of Lunenburg and then north to Mahone Bay where we stopped for lunch at a farmers market deli and split a lobster sandwich and a few other things. we drove through a few more quaint fishing villages before stopping at Peggy's Cove and getting out.
I parked along the road so we could get out and look around. It looked to be a 5-10 minute walk down to
the water so we went that way. It took use much longer. We went through, boggs where there where hole that you couldn't see, past bushes some over my head. brammels and climbed Rocks Once we reached the edge we climb onto the BIG Rock the waves and wind was very strong. After 1 1/2 hrs we reached our car again after our cool and sometime tough hike (holding a 3 yr old most of the way). Peggy's Cove had a cute lighthouse to look at too. Then we drove in to Halifax....and decided we could move here! The city was really nice and right on th ocean. People where everywhere walking, riding bikes and inline skating. The parks where packed with all ages. The weather was very nice too at 60 something and breezy.
That night we decide to drive on. I took a wrong turn and end up in a u drive of a country club. We have been in Canada for over 2 weeks and I had assumed since this too is Canada that everything was metric here too, so when I saw 9 I know I was ok to fit under the drive over hang (it
was dark and down a hill so hard to judge). The trailer didn't fit but the over hang made it fit. I didn't feel or hear anything until the cover of the airconditioner feel on the ground.....to late to save it.
I drove to a grocery store lot, parked under a big light and climbed onto the roof of the truck on check out the damage......oooops!
ok so Now I have 3 sick kids (3 colds, 2 runny noses, 1 sore throat and 1 mild fever) and a hole in the roof and 4 weeks out....we had to vote on what to do next. We decided to head toward Cape Braton to look for whales. We stopped in New Gladsgow, at wal-mart parking lot with two other Rvs for the night.
