After an interrupted night's sleep we departed Portland Maine early and travelled north via I95. What a lovely road flanked either side by deciduous and evergreen trees Not a lot of traffic on the roads as it is a holiday weekend. The roads in New Brunswick are relatively new and well manicured with electric fences. Possibly to keep the Moose off the roads. The old road is still there in pieces but all of the bridges have collapsed. We did come across a great lake with many islands, Digdeguash, leading into the Bay of Fundy. Looked similar to Thai islands without the mystique. The weather has yet to be bright sunshine but is at least fine and very warm 75 degrees.

The overnight stay was in St John NB and the local Italian restaurant meal was very filling and totally different from the Lobster the previous night.
