After a good night sleep, plans are today to go to Capilano Bridge (one of the main attractions in Vancouver) and in the afternoon go around Stanley Park.
So buses leave every hour to Capilano Bridge, it's quarter to 10am, I decide to try and get the 10 o'clock bus. I grab my bag, get out of the hotel, turn right on the street and walk my way to Canada place (well that's what I thought !). After 15 minutes, I start to wonder if I'm going to right way. Decide to take out my map and can't get to know what way I'm going. Turning my map around and around, I then hear a nice man say "you looked lost", I was. I was actually totally the opposite way of where I was going and when I finally arrived at the 11 o'clock bus, I discovered that my hotel was nearly just next door !!!!
Anyway finally direction to Capilano Bridge on North Vancouver. Just see the pictures, it was great, really worse the visit. If you are quite enough, you can hear all the nature around you. You can see the skirrels eating next to you, it's
just magnificent. Everything was built with respect of the trees and animals. You can go on the internet site
http://www.capbridge.com/ and you will have a better idea of what I saw. Oh and I also met a bear, got a picture !!
Back at downtown, I decide to rent a bike to go around Stanley Park. It was nearly 2pm, the sells man tells me that the shop will close at 4:30pm, I answer no problem, I'll be back way before.
Get on my pink bike and go for my tour. Start to go around Stanley Park by the outside, along the sea, stop to have a look at the Totem Poles. At some point decide to go inside the park and see Beaver Lake, very nice. Then went back out to finish my tour along the sea going around the park. Don't know what happened but at some point, I went way too far. As I saw boats and water, I just thought I was on the right way, nope ! Problems is, time runs and in 30 minutes the bike shop is closing. I finish by asking another cyclist, ask him my way. I follow his
instructions, but still can't find my way. I finish by asking people at nearly every street corner until it was 4:25 pm (starting to get panicked 😊). And there a nice couple gets out their i-phone, find the address on the map and even lend me the phone so I can let know the shop that I'm on my way and that they don't close before I arrive. Ouf, get there, apologize and get rid of the bike.
One thing I've learned of today, is now, always use my map even if I think I'm going the right way.
I rewarded myself of a nice hot chocolate, hummm ! then got ready to go out for dinner. Was indicated a very nice pub where I got to eat a delicious vegan curry and listen to good music.
