Not too much has happened in the past week. We have arrived in Vancouver and had a great time staying in Downtown Vancouver. The area is pedestrian and cyclist friendly with nice wide sidewalks and cycle lanes. The city sits in front of the mountains which provide a beautiful backdrop. They are currently still topped with snow - the average temperature here is 12-17 degrees.

We walked around Stanley Park which is a great green area in the city - the seawall emcompasses the park and is approx 8km long and makes for a very pleasant stroll. We have logged some serious walking miles since arriving as we walk everywhere we can. The public transport over here is fantastic for those areas where walking to is not an option and we have been on the buses, trains and ferries already.

We are currently in Surrey which is a suburb of Vancouver for our appointment with Lasik MD. They have given us the go ahead and our appointment for surgery is booked for 8 June 2012 which is quite exciting. We looked at a campervan which looked quite promising so we hope to have that s orted soon too. While we wait for the eye surgery, we hope to get across to Vancouver Island and do a cruise up through the Inside Passage to Alaska

This city is planted out with Tulips everywhere - these are my favourite flowers!
