Clue!
Our great hallowe\'en costume at the Carmana. The end of the week in Vancouver brought us some more work and visitors! Emily and her two of her housemates, Mel and Jordana, decided to take a weekend vacation from their busy Toronto lives to Vancouver. They planned to meet up with us in Vancouver. Geoff and I were both excited about having a few party animals around ot hang out with and although we were working most nights of the weekend at UBC, we had a lot of free time that we would be able to spend with the crew. Alas, it was not meant to be, because something turned up at Geoff's office that required us to visit all of the Wal-Marts in the Fraser Valley. This created a substantial amount of work and soaked up all of the free time we had anticipated in Vancouver.
In the end Geoff and I both worked 14 hour days on Friday and Saturday, but we were determined to get out at night and enjoy the company of Emily, Jordana, and Mel (who are all party animals, of course). We partied like it was going out of style. On Friday we walked up Granville and found ourselves a classy pub
Em and Andy at the airport
Shortly after seeing each other after Emily's flight into Vancouver airport. and enjoyed a few wobbly pops. We were giving the waiter a hard time about kicking us out at closing time, and he was kind enough to escort us to the club across the street called Republik. A few words were exchanged between the waiter and the doorman, and we were waved through the line and into the club. It was dark, noisy and sweaty. Perfect. Dancing occurred, and a good time was had by all.
The ladies had planned out an elaborate costume theme for the whole gang, seeing as Hallowe'en was coming up shortly. Please see the pictures below. We had initially planned to go out, but Geoff and I were really late coming back from work. The ladies had been at a house party downtown and agreed to meet us at the hotel for a few more laughs. I have to say that they really saved that night for me. Things weren't looking so good for us on that Saturday because we were working so late. Geoff and I were afraid that we were going to miss out on all of the fun, but the ladies really pulled through and made it a great night. Oh
The contestants
Our friends from good ol' leaside high school were in UBC... and in the half time show as contestants! Dr. Smooth couldn't contain his excitement yeah... the theme was Clue! Murderously entertaining.
