Ca c'est bien addoné vu ... read more

Friday the 3rd February. Easily the most exciting day I've had over here. I woke up and head to the Beaver for breakfast. I noticed that the weather was incredible: 9 degrees, clear skies with a view of the mountains and sunshine!! Hence, it was a no-brainer that Adam, Mike and myself decided to head up to Grouse Mountain and check out the snow/view. Erin had a job interview so she couldn't join us. Grouse Mountain is less than 45 minutes away (via public transport) in the North Vancouver district and the bus would drop us off right at the entrance of the mountain. It was going to cost us abot $40 each to get in, and that's without skiing/snowboarding. Luckily an English woman overheard Mike and got chatting and offered to get us in as ... read more

Technically today is February 7, but I have been so busy this last week or so, combined with the wi-fi at the hostel going down, that I haven't been able to do these. I'll still be doing it in incriments to keep it shorter and simpler. I did end up going out with Kathy and Janina on Friday night. We were joined by a German guy from the hostel. For the life of me I just can't remember his name. We went to the bar at SameSun backpackers to have a look at it and have a drink. I got talking to a girl from Camberwell at the bar and she said it was the quietest the bar had been all week. I got quite excited and decided to move there, which I was already leaning ... read more

Yello! Zaaaalig geslapen, wel even wakker geweest rond 4u maar in totaal toch ... read more

... read more

Before we left Seattle, Steve, Annabel, Kylie, Scott and I headed over to the Pike Place Market mainly to look for the very first Starbucks shop in America, but having failed to find it, settled for a cooked breakfast in one of the cafes in the market. The weather was really overcast, and so foggy that the tops of wethe buildings around us are covered. Today’s drive was only a short one, 3 hours in all. Our destination was Vancouver, but before that, we had a slight detour in the shape of Todd’s folks. There has been talk over the past few days that his mum wanted to meet the Group and that Todd was trying to arrange a visit as we pass through. Todd’s parents met us at the door, and after being welcomed into ... read more

:Canadian adventure, September 2011 4th of September after a good party for my brother his B-day early in the morning at 6.00 Ricardo, Marcel and me where brought to Airport Dusseldorf in Germany for a direct flight to Vancouver BC. At the airport we walked trough security and our long haired friend had to go back trough security because he had some fluids in his hand luggage... We where early trough the checks and had a breakfast, during the breakfast Marcel had to make the “funny” comment: you will see that behind us is a whining kid….and in the plane there he was….a terrible kid right behind Marcel…damm. Well ok, I did what I can do best….fall asleep and sleep….after several wakeup brakes we landed in Vancouver. By taxi we went to the Hotel close by ... read more

So here we sit at our friends house in North Vancouver looking at the cruise ships waiting to head to the airport for our 6pm flight to Honolulu. We have been planning on what to do while we are there. There's a flea market that is supposed to be top notch, there;'s the beach of course, and Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor and so much more. Brian and I are the kind of travelers who make decisions on the fly. Our friend who is travelling with has been before and hopefully we will rely on her memories to make sure we have the best trip ever. Once we get there I will start posting pictures, hopefully. By the way the anniversary dinner with the family was the best. Parents were surprised, dinner was great. Next post ... read more
