Flowers
The flowers were so pretty. My mom was mopping around the whole time because of jealousy. 7/5/2008
The ferry, Victoria Express, left dock at 8:15 so I had to up at an ungoddly hour of the morning to go to Canada. It was worth it though. The ride there was 60 min. It was so foggy that you couldn't see five feet in front of you but it was a very smooth ride. When we got there we got on a bus that was going to the Buchart Gardens. The bus driver gave us commentary and history of the city. The gardens were beautiful. The first garden was in a limestone pit. There was a rose garden and a Japanese garden also! The flowers were beautiful but they should be with 50 gardeners and 200 staff. After that we took a bus back to the Empress hotel. With some time to spare till our afternoon tea we went to the third best Museum in the world. It was a museum of British Columbia. It was a great museum and even Clay had a good time =O. Bye then it was time for tea in the Empress Hotel. It was very fancy and everything was small. The sandwhiches were tiny and dad had trouble with the handels on the
Sunken Garden
Jennie Buchart started this garden in an empty limestone quary. Her husband had a cement business and earlier used the limestone. Her friend said that no one not even Jennie could make something grow in such aweful soil. Jennie saw that as a challenge and started her second garden. Even going to the extreme of hanging off cliffs to plant the ivy. tea cups. It was very good and a lot of fun. Clay cheered up a bit when the tiny deserts came out. After that it was time to head back to the ferry. Everyone was worn out and wanted to sleep but the water was really rough so we went up top and looked around because you could actually see!
