Made it to Pender Harbour and Ken’s home courtesy of Al and Barb driving us there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them both and the beautiful area and community of people they live in and with.

Lunch had been prepared for all us by Ken which we enjoyed on the outside balcony overlooking Gunboat Bay. The views for 360 degrees are awesome. The house is luxuriant in all aspects. We have again, ‘landed-on-our-feet’. Considering it has been nearly 29 years since we last saw Ken when he visited us in Como, the conversation flowed easily. The year 1986 was definitely good to us.

Ken, the dog and I hit the water for a few hours of gentle paddling. Again, it is always a different perspective from the water. I got to see Mt Daniel … which we will climb tomorrow … mmmmm! Anyways, always up for the challenge. I really enjoyed the paddle and was greeted upon my return by Jane popping out of the boat (one of) as she had been lying down reading.

Joanne arrived from an appointment in Vancouver so we met her for the very first time and conversed readily over prawns and
wine. It was then onto the boat to head out to Malaspina Strait to view the sunset however, we had to settle for the full moon. We rafted together with another of Ken’s friends, conversed, laughed, fished with no bites and enjoyed the dogs. Yes, dogs; Ken’s, a Westie and 2 Huskies from the other. A sensational night out indeed. Yep, we’ve definitely landed on our feet … again.
