Yep, we passed! Ok, so how exciting is that, we both passed our Level 1’s! Yay! First exam done, one more to go. So, 2 months since the last blog. I know rubbish, but believe me this riding every day is exhausting. It really is! You try the equivalent of 7 hours a day in the gym and see if you can stay awake past 9pm, I certainly can’t! Ok so no real excuse but we truly have been busy. In f... Read Full Entry

So another Powder day at Fernie. This is in the Timber bowl and is one of the big cliff walls that shelter Fernie. At the very top you can see the Ice overhangs called cornices. These are the size of cars and trucks. Huge, and they have a tendency to fall. When they do it is epic. Luckily, ski patrol are very carefull and make sure they drop zone is well closed off!

This pic shows the reason Fernie is so famous for Powder. The storms from the Pacific have an uninterrupt journey all the way and when they hit the rockies here in Fernie, they hug the headwalls and puke down snow! On the right side of the pic you can see the 3 fingers that dominate the view of Fernie. These are 3 rubs called Stag Leap, Skydive and Decline. Steep, deep and moguled!

This is Steve, one of Rich's instructors. A typical lesson from Steve means you have to go where he goes and do what he does. Mad!
