On route
Bianca just having woken up on route to the rockies Well I could spend ages explaining just how beautiful the Rockies are in Winter or you could just look at these pictures - they nowhere near capture the full effect of the mountains but they give you the general idea

Well we left Guelph at 4am in the morning to head to Toronto airport - it was sad times after the 4 most amazing months of my life we had to leave - Saying goodbye is always hard but to leave behind some of the most amazing people I've ever met wondering when if ever i'll see them again thats tough. Luckily for me I was with my fellow muskateers. Bianca and Emily since Frosh week (which seems so long ago) due to unforseen circumstances the three of us had been joined at the hip and it was rare to see one without the others. Karl and Ylva also joined us on the ride to the airport as they were heading to Whistler. Anyway we finally arrived in Banff at around about lunchtime and headed straight for the hostel where we were staying. Our journey to Banff was awesome - Calgary looks like its in the Prairies and suddenly

Bianca Ylva Karl and Emily at the airport - sorry its a bit shaky but non of us were very steady that morning thanks to the Ranch? these huge ass mountains appear ten mins later your in the middle of them. Niw if any of you know Scotland you'll understand how I felt. The Cairngorms vs The Rockies what a contest.
We didn't hit the hills on the first day as we were exhausted but we did get an opportunity to meet Emily's buddies who work in and around Banff. Later on we hit the town for some drinks and met many more people and began to get the feeling that Banff is a crazy place and if you're up for a good time the chances are everyone around is feeling exactly the same.

Well we spent the next few days at Mount Norquay and Lake Louise brushing up our sking skills - The first day we arrived me and Bianca (the beginners) got to the top of the hill and realised that we didn't actually know what we were doing. I had a big enough job getting on the chairlift never mind getting off it and down the hill. For a brief moment panic struck but then just looking around made us realise - Hell we were in the rockies about to
Our first night
The Buchannans(Nads and James from Oz) after headbutting each other go sking - To hell with the worry i'm sure we'll get down somehow.
It didn't take long and after some brief instruction from Emily (who's been sking since she was 2 and throws herself over edges i would call 100%!v(MISSING)ertical drops) we got the hang of it and were more than capable of geeting from top to bottom. Even if it did meam sliding down a massive slope on my back head first too busy laughing to get up. Both me and Bianca had our fair share of falls and we both laughed a hell of alot that week. Even Miss pro skier Emily spent some time on her ass so the falls were pretty evenly divided I would say.
Well that week was amazing loads of partying and Skiing. Meeting some hilarious crazy people - Frodo, Funboy and the Buchannans and generally having the time of our lives it came that time again when we had to leave.
Goodbye Banff and Canada
This was the part that sucked more than anything else ever. We got tot the airport and luckily Emily's flight which was supposed to leave in 20mins was delayed a couple of hours so we

recognise the snowsuit? For reference look through previous journals went for beers - what else! Saying goodbye to Emily was really harsh and both me and Bianca cried like little kids. But it was worth it cause cryings a good thing and i knew we'd be keeping in touch for many years. It was sad saying bye to Bi too but not so bad cause i knew'd i'd see her again in a couple of weeks when she came to the UK. Well to some up this very long entry I'd just like to mention that the Rockies are one of my favourite places i've ever seen and it's gonna take a lot to change that. I had the best time ever in Canada and can't wait for the day when I go back and meet up with the amazing people i met from all over the globe - they were what made Canada and I owe them a massive thank you. I'll never forget any of it the parties, the stupidity, the lifelong friendships and the mystery of Canadians and last but not least the beer. Overall Canada you rock and I love you.
