The Columbia Ice Fields are located about 2 1/2 hr drive north of Banff. The scenery is amazing. Glaciers are disappearing from our mountains due to global warming. We are glad we had a chance to see them. We stopped at one glacier called Athabasca for a guided tour out onto the ice field with specialized ice busses. Later we went out on a Skywalk suspended out over a canyon.
