Brian's birthday - on the plane
On the plane 00:30 in the morning! We arrived in Dubai in the early hours. I set the alarm for 09:30 so that we could have brekkie before it stopped at 10:00 - I was awake, Brian for once was not - well it was his birthday!
We had some coffee and crisps for brekkie then wandered around using the map I'd printed - what would we do now without Google?
Came across a metro station (Khalid Bin Al Waleed) and decided to see if we could see the famous hotel Burj Al Arab.
We were confused by the map as not all the stations are open even though they are on the map, but it was a great way to see the views.
Got to the end of the line (Nakheel harbour) but was only a power station theres. As we'd forgotten our hats and had no water and it was hot and sunny, thought it best to go back up the metro line. Decided to get off at the Mall of the Emirates - which has Debenhams, Next, River Island etc. and feels very much like wandering around the Trafford centre - not bad. We had a chinese in the food court. Got back to the
Dubai Hotel Room
Winchester Hotel Apartments - room 405 same metro station and had coffee and Rhubarb pie
As you can't drink at the hotels we decided to have tea and retire as we had to get up at 06:30 for our pickup for the flight to Sydney.

Looks very posh. Did Brian enjoy his birthday. Hope Sidney meets up to your expectations. No need to rub in it showing sunsets. Had more snow last night. Daisy has just brought half of it inside. Enjoy yourselves.
