It was my first time to visit Dubai by chance, because it was my boyfriend's business trip between 09Apr and 12Apr07 and since I work for an airline, then I bought myself a stand-by air-ticket (Emirates) to go along with him.
We stayed at the 5* Crowne Plaza hotel and it's situated at the financial area, on the Sheikh Zayed Road.

We managed to visit a few places in Dubai:
Jumeirah Beach Park, Mall of Emirates, Ski Dubai, Dubai Museum, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Gold Souk, Old Souk, Dubai Marina, Mercato (Shopping Mall), Deira City Centre (Shopping Mall) etc...

The climate wasn't that bad in early April it is still bearable about 20-29 degrees. The main transportation is taxi. We basically took taxi everywhere! Since it is so cheap, it’s only few pounds each time! But just be careful of the traffic! It can be very bad during the rush hours; you can be stuck in the traffic for hours! But no worries about the charges on your taxi fares, if you are stuck in the traffic and the taxi’s not moving (at traffic light); you won’t be charged at all!! The meter will stop counting as soon as

the taxi stopped!

Another traditional method to get between Bur Dubai and Deira is using the water transport called Abra. It cost 1 Dirham (13p) for each ride!! This was cheap and really fast way across the Dubai creek. Especially when it’s rush hours on the road!
