Tired in Turkey

We have now left the eurozone of Greece and have entered Turkey. It is still very hot in the 30s centigrade. Stefan refused to go to Ephesus yet again so we cancelled our tour and decided to have a lazy day aboard. Ephesus is fantastic if you have never been before but I have been twice now so agreed we needed some catch up time. We did go ashore into the town to find an ATM as we had forgotten to bring Turkish lira with us. There are loads of shops and lots of Turkish salesmen trying to get you to look at stuff. Little do they realize but we are put off by pressuring people. I want to browse without the shop keeper breathing down my neck. But quite frankly who wants to think of buying a leather jacket in this heat?? After getting our money we stopped at a bar to get some small change but then it was back to the ship. As everyone was out on tours the sun deck was empty so did my first bit of sunbathing. Not for long however as it is incredibly hot! There are several children on this ship so they were in the pool. It is not usual to get children on board as they are charged the same price as adults and there is no entertainment for them. Saying that though, one of the hostesses has taken them under her wing and ushers them into the front row of the theatre for the show and even organizes a golf putting competition for them They have all been impeccably well behaved. We have met some lovely people, the staff have been super and the food and service have been better than ever. It has been nice having tours included in the price as well as WiFi not to mention laundry. We are both extremely glad we came even though we thought it would be repeating a previous voyage, which in the end it wasn't. Silversea is top of my cruising company list
