Cirali is just up from a place called Olympus... So what i hear ya say.. Well behind Cirali there is a mountain called Mt Olympus and it is the home of the eternal flame... Yep there is flames coming straight out of the rocks.

We headed up after dark for a 3km walk up the hill, we arrived to see a very strange sight. Up in the valley there was lots of flames springing out of the rocks, and no it is not caused by a hole in a gas pipeline.

It was hard to photograph however i tried, this is supposedly the original spot where crazy doods used to light their torches and run to Olympus just up the coast 3km to then race each other.

Freaky stuff, we had no idea this was there and just happened to stop for the night. Oh and i forgot there was some Roman ruins right next to the rock fires. Yippee
