Alex: We went to the underground caves. And I rode a camel. If you think of horseback riding and then camelback riding, it may be funny to you. We also made pottery and we bought three plates for each of us: me, Josh and Kate. We bought and rug and we got to run around on the different rugs and it was fun except mom got mad at us sometimes. Other than that, it was a great day in Cappadocia.
Kate: Hi everyone! For the entire day in Cappadocia we had a guide we had to wake up at 7:30 to we could eat and pack. Our guide's name was Ugur (the g is silent and it should have a little smiley over the top). The first place we went to was an underground city used by Cappadocians in the dangerous times when enemies were passing by for shelter. Our second stop was at some ancient churches and chapels, which had old graffiti from Greek kids in the 18th century. By looking at the pictures in the churches we saw 2 types of Christen religion from the 15th century. After we went to the churches we were driving by and

You may lounge or have meals up here. We liked watching the swallows decided to stop to take a picture of a camel and Alex and I ended up riding on it! It was really great. Today we also went to a pottery shop, where we tried a kick wheel and mom bought some original, fancy plates, a rug store where mom got 2 rugs for the living room and her office. It was another fantabulous day in Turkey.
Josh: We woke up and we had breakfast. They had lots of weird jellies, including rose, grape, strawberry and cherry. They were fresh. I also had some apricot juice. After a little while our tour guide came and picked us up. We went to an underground shelter used by the people who used to live in Cappadocia. They had this big ventilation shaft that was about 350 feet down and when the guy poured a little water down there and it hit it sort of sounded like gunfire. There were also some tunnels where they had big millstones with a hole in the middle and if there were enemies coming they would roll them across the doors to keep the enemy from coming through and there were holes in the middle where they could shoot arrows. They also had places where they could stomp grapes with their feet and the juice could run down to where they could store wine. They also had holes where they could store food and places where people with spears could stand off to the side and if the enemy passed by they could shish kebab them. On the way to visit a monastery there was a guy with a camel and you could pay some money to ride on the camel. I sat up for a picture and then got off. He didn't really smell like he had just had a bath. He started foaming. I don't think he was rabid, but he looked like he had just eaten whipped cream. After we were done, we left and went to an ancient monastery. These monasteries were inside these cone shapes and they painted pictures in them. We saw some cool rock formations. They looked like bunnies, lions, camels and walruses. I sent a picture to my teacher that had a camel shape on it from there. It was a great day.
