we started our trip in damascus, then we visited maaulla and headed to palmyra. stayed there three nights and it was so hot. from palmyra to the huge crusader castle Krak des chevalliers and stayed in the pleasant city of hama on the orontes river. don't miss the gardens and the norias. we stayed at cairo hotel, which we warmy recommend. the owner organizes trip to the sourrandings including apamea and the dead cities. the went to visit the roman city of apamea and the wonderful dead city of baara and serjilla. then we took the bus to aleppo and stayed in a nice little hotel in the old city, right in the middle of the souqs. after three nights in the city went to gianzantep in turkey and headed north to katha. we slept in the little mountain village of karadut. the visit to nemrut dagi was one of the highlight of our trip. from karadut to kayseri by bus and then to Goreme in cappadocia. in goreme we stayed in a pension right in the middle of the village with wonderful view of the pinnacles. we rented a scooter and went around to sightseeing the region. then again took

the bus to antalya and stayed in kaleici, the old part of town and also went to the beach in the afternoon. from antalya to olympus/cirali where we stayed in a family pension sorrounded by citrus trees. the beach and the sea are only 5 minutes away. the beach is home of carretta carretta turtles which nest in july and august. we visited the ruins of olympus and relaxed for some days. from cirali to kas, nice village but too many tourists. here we went out on a boat for a day, swimming in the clear blue mediterranean sea. from kas to patara, little village again with a huge sandy beach and roman ruins. we stayed at the flower pension, and had the best food of all our trip cooked by the owner's wife. bus again to Dalyan and beach again, turtles and lycian tombs. bus to pamukkale where we bathed in the warm water and visited roman hierapolis. then bus to selcuck, friendly village and good food and lots of storks. stayed here four days to visit efes, the wonderful national park of the dilek peninsula and again the beach. then bus to izmir and finally we reached istanbul.
