WAR, what is it good for, absolutely nothing, sing it again! Its times like this that my brain overloads on the scary reality of our world and goes into "Boy Meets World" mode, that happy little disney fantasy show that i love so much. And i hear Corey and Tapanga singing that song about war.... yes i'm crazy, but only in a good way! (forgive me if u don't know which show or episode I'm talking about). I could launch into several political rages right now, but I'm not going to I promise. Tonight has been scary and frustrating while watching the news. The UN is trying to pass this ceasefire agreement, which Israel has seen and has said it will not agree to for many reasons, and the Israeli military (IDF) has started the expansion ... read more

Hi all, I'm writing from my friend's apartment in Ramat Gan (another neighborhood of Tel Aviv). It is closer to the main city of Tel Aviv than where my cousins house was, but still not in the city. But ramat gan is a city of its own. I moved in thursday night. The apartment is really nice and is in a great location. There is food and shopping and restaurants and coffee shops all within walking distance. I also have a nice balcony from his 6th floor apartment where i can see most of the city, and I like to sit out on the balcony at night and enjoy the cool evening air (and borrow wireless interent from one of his neighbors, hehe). So yesterday I walked all around the neighborhood to get a feel for ... read more

I FINALLY saw Pirates of the Carribean 2!!! I know most of you probably saw it right when it came out like 3 weeks ago, but I am in a different country, and getting to the movies has been a challenge. More so because I kept waiting to find someone to go with me, and my cousins kept saying they would go tomorrow, but we would never go. But finally, we went! And also, I was totally extra hyped to see this movie because of going to the Premiere of the movie while I was in London. So, I took my cousin to the movie, Sari. She is about my parent's age. She wanted to see Lassie. So needless to say, she didn't enjoy Pirates too much. Oh well. I loved it. It was so much ... read more

Hey Kids. well, yup, I'm still here in Israel. The past few days have been very relaxing. I've spent a lot of time at the beach, and just walking around town. On Sunday, we had some excitement at my cousin's house. Their adorable dog kaya was playing outside, and someone left the gate open, so she was outside. A guy with a huge labrodor (or however u spell it) came walking by, and the dog scared the shit out of kaya who started screaming and then bolted down the street so fast and off somewhere. the guy who's big dog scared kaya, left his big dog with me, and then went running after kaya. my cousins followed him, on foot and by car, and they were all probably chasing her for a good half hour. the ... read more

So I'm back from the Alps. I didn't post anymore since last Wednesday because with the war going on in Israel it seemed pointless. In fact, the whole trek seemed pointless. However, I did write everything on my pocket PC. So If you're curious to read my stories, I'll post them soon, with the pictures.... read more

So gonna get a little political here.... I'd like to say a big fat THANKS FOR NOTHING F***ERS to: Iran for supplying Hezbollah with rockets and whatever else they want Big Daddy Bush Sr and all his friends for giving Iran help and weapons and all that stuff back in their hay day. And I'm certainly no fan of W Bush Jr, but its not fault his daddy had to buy him into the president's job so he could clean up his daddy's mess. Which, in terms of Israel, he's actually doing a good job. Who woulda thunk it? Syria for being just like Iran and supplying the terrorists groups in Lebanon and Gaza with weapons. Hmmm i could go on, but those are the biggies. I"d like to take a moment to pray for the ... read more

It's Thursday late evening. I left the hotel this morning after breakfast and had the kind of complete day that qualifies as an all-time classic. Three-hour lunch with friends under the shady trees in Neve Tzedek, then 4 hours at the beach, watching in awe as the sun went down over the Mediterranean. Haifa is being hit by Katyusha rockets, the Isreali army continues their attacks on Lebanon and Gaza, but nothing seems to faze the people here. It's ironic, yet perfectly normal here. There's an incredible sense of chilled-out fatalism here that I cannot fully understand - in Tel Aviv, they are so jaded to the attacks that it's hard to get a real sense of how dangerous the situation is, or how much worse it may get. ... read more

so, things are happening in israel. its pretty intense right now, but i'm taking one day at a time (as everyone is) and trying to go about things as normal as possible. see here is where me writing a blog doesn't work, because there is much i want to say, but i don't want to say it and scare people. so i'm just gonna say that if u really want to know what is going on, just ask me, but i'm going by the "too much information" philosophy here. sooo. today, i went to this town called Zichron Yaacov. It is a beautiful picturesque town on top of a mountain overlooking the mediterranean sea. it was founded in 1882 as one of the first modern settlements. it became a Rothschild settlement a couple years after that. ... read more
