church of holy sepulcre
early this morning steve and james and laura and pete went to the church of the holy seplcre and i was thinking about going too but when i got to the foyer they had left they said they would be going at 6 am and i was there at about 6;15 so i thought i would try to catch them up so off i went and after walking around in circles for about 20min i decided to ask someone where it was but thats hard when they dont speak english and I dont speak hebrew or arabic. anyway when i got there they had already gone so i took some photos had a look around and went back for breakfast if you want to know more about the church you will have to ask the others

after breakfast we went on the rampart walk which is on top of the wall and we walked past gabatha where we went yesterday which i wanted to do because i wanted to see what was behind the wall what we found was a mound of ground coming at least halfway up the wall so we think that if you were to excavate you

ramparts walk
may find the ruins of pilates palace

after the walk we had something to eat and went to the upper room which is clearly from the crusader period so probably just a room somewhere near the real upper room long since knocked down

then we went to the garden tomb noone really knows where Jesus was buried but this place looks as it is described in the bible in a garden and having the chanel and the flat face to roll a stone in front of also steve pointed out a pin in the wall where they may have rolled the stone and pinned it in place to seal it from being opened as the bible says.

when we went to the supposed area where the cross may have been golgotha steve said he had heard that this place is exactly 777metres from sea level well as i had a gps with me we decided to test it and guess what he was right!!!!

from here we went to the pool of bethesda and as we were about to go and have a look at the pool donnamay said why dont we go into the church

gabatha
and sing pray for the peace of jerusalem

i wasnt too interested but waking past the door i heard pray for the peace of jerusalem coming from inside thinking that by some coincidence there was a group singing inside, but no, it was only steve singing and noone else another of steves amazing tallents!!!!!

we went down to the pool and james got his feet wet and then we read about the healing of the lame man by Jesus on the sabbath at this pool

then walked home slowly and sat down to write this a bit tired been walking all day. we may go to king david hotel for food about 5pm
