Yesterday the Survivor testimonies were so emotionally draining, but amazing anyway! One woman was actually best friends with Anne Frank (she called her Anna). You'd think these poor women would be beyond traumatised, but they were so cheerful and willing to talk that it made it that much harder to listen to! We were all so buggered afterwards that we went and had pizza (which was the size of a table, and vegetarian of course... no meat/milk combined ya know!), and went to Restobar for drinks.
As we were walking back to the hotel we walked past a demonstration against the Israeli army (which goes to show that despite what western media coverage says, not ALL Israelis are pro-war!). There are rumours also that Lebanon has attacked Israel from the North. It's pretty tense here, but we're lasting. I lost my pandoras bracelet and had a good cry about that, but Michelle is certain it will turn up eventually 😞
Anyway, until Sunday (no more updates until then, tomorrow we have a tour of the Jewish Quarters of the Old City and a Shabbat dinner and visit to the Great Synagogue. On Saturday we have a tour of the Christian Holy sites within the Old City (the crucifixion, the 10 stages of the Walk of Jesus, the resurrection, the ascention etc etc). So until then, ciao-monara
