What to wear in Iran?! To MEN: you have more freedom to choose what to wear here! ;-) Men can wear any kinds of shirts (long or short sleeves) & long pants that they want, any color, any design. Concerning wearing short, i have seen men putting on that in coastal cities in the north (Caspian sea's area) or south (Persian gulf) of Iran& in other cities while climbing and hiking in the nature. Insights into Iran
Great information for the women traveller, it does seem a bit daunting with the dress code but now that I see your pictures it is not so different from what I wear. It is so interesting to read your blogs so please continue! Best Inga

Fashion show!
There are also some links for fashion mantos which you will see while walking in the streets, in front of shopping mall, or in the restaurants especially in Tehran and Shiraz http://www.dw.de/%D9%81%D8%B4%D9%86-%D9%85%D8%AF%D8%B1%D9%86-%D9%88-%D8%B1%D9%86%DA%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%86%DA%AF-%D9%84%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B3-%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%B1-%D8%B4%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%B2/g-16995452 http://www.dw.de/%D9%81%D8%B4%D9%86-%D8%AC%D8%B0%D8%A7%D8%A8-%D9%88-%D9%85%D8%AF%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D9%85%D8%AF%D8%B1%D9%86-%D9%84%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B3-%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-%D8%A8%D8%A7-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%87-%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D9%82%DB%8C%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%88%D8%B2%DB%8C/g-16967713 http://www.dw.de/%D9%85%D8%AF-%D8%A8%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87-%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%85%D8%AF%D8%B1%D9%86-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86/g-16725120 http://www.dw.de/%D9%85%D8%AF%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%AC%D8%B0%D8%A7%D8%A8-%D9%88-%D8%AE%D9%88%D8%B4-%D8%A2%D8%A8-%D9%88-%D8%B1%D9%86%DA%AF-%D9%88-%D8%B2%DB%8C%D8%A8%D8%A7-%D8%A8%D8%B1%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C/g-16939462

Beautiful!
Those fashion pictures are just gorgeous, I hope they are not too expensive because I would very much like to have something like that. So different from our picture of women dressed in a black chador in Iran. Now I worry I will look to scruffy when I come to Iran!!! Cheers

private fashion shows
Well, some of them are really beautiful and can be used as dress or coat in Europe. there are some designers and they have private fashion shows with models and etc for Manto! Also, some of those montos can be found in some shopping malls. the price depends on designer, the quality of used fabric and material, the amount of handmade works done on the manto but they are usually between 70 euro and 250 euro.

to DIANA (Diana Mirza-Grisco)
Hello Diana, i dont know what problem is that i couldn't answer your private message so i brings it here and hope you can see it! I hope you are doing well and wish you& your friend a nice stay in Iran in advance! :) Well, about your question, Yazd & Shiraz are warmer than Tehran & Isfahan but during October weather is pleasant and nice in all mentioned cities and maybe temperature is around 18-30 centigrade at days! So you can bring your cotton clothes which you mainly wear during September in Romania + bring a warmer jacket in case weather get colder or rainy. Shoes, up to you! :D Here many girls wear high heels ;-) but I guess for you as a traveler perhaps some comfortable shoes would be better. You do not need any boot on October as snow starts after December. As I said, there are many Manto shops in each street of Iran but just 2 days ago I went to Haft-e-Tir square (next to Vali-Asr squre),which is known for selling Mantos, and I saw many beautiful mantos there so you can go there. P.S. Bus system to those mentioned cities are very good and comfortable so you and your friends will not face any problem. There are many buses for different hours every day to those cities by different companies. You just need to reach Terminal-e-Arjantin (or Terminal-e-Azadi) and buy the ticket! Best Wishes, Mahboobe

Thank you
For this great posts. Is it easy to buy manto to fit larger sizes? Like UK 24.

You are most welcome Pauline. sure it is possible to get that size as there are many ladies with various sizes in Iran although i guess those fashion kinds Manto are usually for smaller sizes.
