Last Supper
Snails for John Hi everyone - well two days at sea relaxing and just having a good time - getting up late in the mornings and enjoying what the ship had to offer plus Canasta at 4pm and at this stage boys vs girls - 3 all.....
The evening entertainment was dinner at any restaurant that hadn't asked us to leave and then we went to the shows, Cirque Soleil - what a great one he was - climbing a ladder on stage on a ship - who would even tryi? On the last evening singers and other artists who also happen to be staff on the ship!! They were fantastic. There was also a great comedian one night before we left - even better than the earlier one - couldn't stop laughing..
Another evening there was dancing to the Latin American 4 piece band - we danced until a group of Mexicans came along and blew us out of the water but fun to watch them.
Eventually the time came when we really had to go back and pack - not much fun at all - couldn't fit everything back in and poor John had to sit on the case....
think it may have been mine..... can you see the visual of this..... in his jocks??? Hmmm won't take that any further. The joy of cruising is being totally spoilt and not having to live out of suitcases so bit of a culture shock to have to pack and do that again.
Very easy getting off the ship - much better than doing it in Barcelona that's for sure and our driver was there to pick us up to take us to Heathrow so we slept most of the way - the private driver was excellent and much cheaper than the bus! We also slept on the way.... In fact because it was so easy to get off the ship and to Heathrow with Fangio driving that we got there several hours too early. We couldn't book in for at least 2.5 hours so just wandered around the airport and had a few cuppas and read and bought a few bits from the shops there... what else is a girl to do?
Eventually we booked in and went through immigration to 'the other side' where we walked for bloody miles and miles to get to the gate we
needed - we walked in a tunnel like structure to get there too - quite unusual... anyway off to Dublin - although spent a good half hour on the tarmac.... strange plane too - only small and nowhere for the stewards to hide from us... we slept again on the way.
Took ages once we arrived in Dublin via bus to find our hotel - walked for ages pulling along suitcases etc - apparently caught the wrong bus!!
We went to a pub - so far away it was..... NOT... it was right next door - seems to be a pub on every corner here. I had Irish Stew - oh yum - how good was that?! John did too - we were whacked so home and out cold until 5am today. Hotel is lovely -although the bus station is across the road and the train line runs up high on a bridge on the side of the hotel.... but apart from that all is good - unusual ceiling in the breakfast room but great all the same.
