Once we finally got to Krakow, we had a wonderful time. It is such a lovely city. The old city and the market square are filled with fresh flowers, buskers, amber, charming old restaurants, and lots of European atmosphere. It is a great place to stroll, shop, and people watch. This is a very smoky, salty and pungent tasting sheep's cheese made specifically in Zakopane. They even have a patent on the recipe.

This is a local market that is set up under the highway.

Lots of people, but no cars, only horse carts.

This was the first house of this design by a very famous Polish architect. It became the model for the unique Zakopane architecture that is seen throughout the region.

This mountain is supposed to look like a man lying down. The legend is that it is a prince that protects Zakopane from any danger.
