Greece is a beautiful country with beautiful beaches, lakes, mountains, and so much more. Greece is also full of so much history and it is amazing to see the ruins that have been preserved until our day. Summer is the perfect time to go visit, but you have to make sure you are prepared! Here are five things you need to do before you go off and spend your amazing summer in Greece. Pack like a pro
Make sure you prepare for the weather. Look up the weather ahead of time and know what type of activities you would like to do so that you have everything you need. Try to layout all of your outfits for each day you will be spending there so you don’t forget anything. Keep all kinds of weather in mind as you compile your checklist, adding panchos and sunhats if necessary. Make sure you pack a plug adapter because the electrical outlets are different in Greece. Also be sure to take a portable charger to make sure your phone is charged at all times so you can capture every moment! Plan, plan, plan
One word: Cash. Greece is big on cash so make sure you have enough money to bring with you. In fact, most places in Greece only accept cash. At any international airport in Greece, you will be able to exchange US dollars for Euros
, so be sure to do that as soon as you arrive. Also make sure to double check that your hotel is booked and ready to go before you leave. Try to plan out what activities you would like to do beforehand. Plan a tour or excursion each day and see if you are able to book in advance. If there are restaurants or stores you know you want to go to, make sure you double check the times they are open and plan your day accordingly.
Secure your belongings
It is important to make sure you have everything in order before you leave the country and this includes your bills, your belongings, and your security. Make sure you plan out what bills need to be paid before you leave so that you can leave all your worries behind during your Grecian getaway. If you have pets that you are not taking with you make sure you find a pet sitter or a family member or friend that can help you take care. House security is vital, especially while you are away, not only because you want to protect your home, but you shouldn’t have to be stressed about it on your trip. Be sure to do this far in advance so that you aren’t in a last minute panic. Start by making sure you put all your valuable items in a safe in case of a break in. A doorbell camera is a great way to monitor your home
when you are far away and a great way to make sure your home is secure. It will also allow you to see when a package is delivered or if someone comes to your door.
Brush up on your Greek
Time to whip out some Rosetta Stone and learn some greek. Try to plan this ahead of time because speaking the language is essential. If nothing else, try to learn a few Greek phrases, like “please” , “Thank you”, “I would like to order”, and “excuse me”. If all fails you can always use google translate to help you communicate with locals
By doing all of these things, you will be more than ready to have fun on your Greek adventure.
