It was around 9am on 7 July when I made my way to City Hall, near Tower Bridge in the heart of London, where Mayor Ken Livingstone has his office, for a work 'away-day'. I was feeling very proud of myself that I had managed to find my way via public transport and map to a place I had never been, in a city where I had only lived for 6 weeks. In short… it didn’t happen… but we ARE lucky to be alive (see my parting words in my July 5 post). Fortunately for us, no one was hurt in any of the attacks that happened, and we were no where near central London at the time. We had left at 8 am for a tour of a Rolls-Royce jet engine assembley plant in Derby (3 hours away), and we heard off and on accounts of what was going on in London over the radio, from there being a train collision near Aldgate, possibly due to signal failure, to there being 4 bombings to even 7 seperate incidents, including a bus explosion, even though we now know that there were only 4. heya there, as you all know me and dozing m are trying to prepare for our amatrip around south america. and blimy we are going to miss you all so so much!! but not too much i mean you're all too jelous to admit that you are going to miss us but we are going to miss you. Did i mention that we will miss you?!? But packing, boy is that hard, what do we take what do we leave behinde? i want to take just about everything, and a spare and dom would be happy with a mosquito net, pair of walking boots and a swiss army knife!
