Rainy and very cold – biting wind.
Arrving Heathrow, we were about second and third through security. Our bags arrived on the carousel about 30 seconds after we reached it. We flew through customs and went directly to the arrivals lounge, where we had a shower (lovely) and breakfast (since we had skipped on the plane). Got the rental car and drove through the rain to Pemsey Farm.
It was lovely to see Allison again, and the farm. Rainy, we hung about a bit outside to watch the horses be moved around and helped settle a rug on an errant horse. But mostly we sat inside, in the warm kitchen, and chatted with Allison and her mother.
Around 5:30pm, a group of us went to the pub (the Blue Anchor, not the one at the end of their drive). We had a pint and chatted. Kyla arrived via train and taxi from London, and we had another drink with her (or, rather, I finished my first). Then we walked back to the house, where we had a delicious dinner of quiche, using eggs from the farm chickens.
