If you look closely you can see many landmarks, including the London Eye.

Hamburg to Heathrow, A320 seating 3x3. We circled London and had a great view of the city out the plane's window. Heathrow is a zoo! I don't think I've seen so many people at an airport before. Long queues everywhere: I couldn't help but compare it to Changi Airport where extra service staff magically appear whenever there looks to be a queue of more then a few people forming, After a two-hour connection, A321 to Glasgow arriving at 2:40pm.

Our exchange partners in Kilcreggan are Jim and Hazel Nesbitt, who are motor-home touring in France at the moment. Their good friends Ray and Loren Ford picked us up from Glasgow airport and took us to their home in Helensburgh. They were incredibly warm and hospitable and we had a cup of tea and a good chat in their sunny conservatory. Then Robyn and I took off in the Nesbitt's car (a baby Fiat) to drive the 35min around Gare Loch and down the Rosneath Peninsula to Kilcreggan. Google maps took us down a narrow, one-way country road with blind crests and deep roadside drainage ditches. At one point we had to back up quite a distance to find a spot

No photo-shopping, the sky was really that colour. It was a beautiful day!
for an oncoming car to pass. Crikey!

Jim and Hazel's home is spacious and thoroughly renovated with a terrific view over the Clyde River. We met neighbour Ray Stewart who is our local contact for assistance with the house or whatever. He and his wife Margaret were also very friendly and had a good laugh at our travel route - there are much more reasonable roads down either shore. Thanks Google, NOT!

Within minutes of our arrival in Kilcreggan Michael and Rhona pulled up. They had driven up from London over a couple of days and will spend time with us here in Scotland. On Ray's advice we had a fine dinner at the Hotel Kilcreggan restaurant, a short drive away.
