The penultimate (full) day! We've all now finished our carousel of activities and have all managed to decide which our favourites were (nobody agrees though). Mr Clare and Mrs Pearson joined us in the morning, too, which made it a very exciting breakfast time.

Miss Clark's group went to the mine with Mr Clare and it was AMAZING! We went on a zip line, clambered up a mile of slate and rowed across a flooded chamber (Miss Clark expected it to be a bit like the lake scene in Harry Potter but Dumbledore definitely didn't use a rubber dingy). Mr Harasiwka, Miss Fincken and Mrs Choudhury went gorge walking and canoeing. Mr Harasiwka's group all ended up with face paint/masks from the campfire and they played a game where they swapped canoes when they were still on the lake. Surprisingly, none of them fell in. They also had to put their faces into the lake to ask permission from the Lake Monster Teggi to cross. Miss Fincken's group had an eventful trip up the gorge where wellies were lost (and recovered) and another marshmallow toasting where Errol managed to lose a record-breaking 5 marshmallows to the fire! Mrs Choudhury's group had another welly-losing extravaganza where the instructor had to dive under the water to rescue them, which he said is the first ever time he's had to do that. Finally, Mrs Evans and Mrs Pearson went mountain climbing. The whole group were great and were really good company for Mrs Pearson. They told riddles and jokes on the way up and the view from the top was breathtaking.

Tonight we are going to be spending money in the shop, trying to sort out some of the towels, socks and waterproofs that have ended up a bit mixed up and a surprise activity that the instructors are running. Exciting times!
