day 1... in darkness!

Writing this retrospectively now that I've got internet access.

Took us all morning to pack the car, left Hermitage twice (forgot things!), collected beer, food and petrol on way, loaded PM, amazingly it is still afloat, and then set off finally from boatyard at 4.45pm. Headed to Reading, where we moored for night. Good meal at Jamie's Italian in the Oracle. On return to PM, cabin light went out mysteriously, I discovered could not get internet, and both gas cylinder and loo flush ran out...good start! But bed very comfy and cosy, and with our head lamps strapped on we were happy!
