Dad's Christmas present was a trip to Shrewsbury 10 pin bowling, and today was the day to go. It was a convoluted journey as the bridge over the River Severn we usually use is closed due to flood damage. Not to worry, there are other bridges. But our road was closed due to a car accident, so diversion number one. We found our way again only to be taken on a scenic route by the mapreader! And when we eventually got where we wanted to be, that road was closed for road works and another diversion in place. Eventually we arrived, to find the bowing alleys empty, we could choose which one. We only played one game, as we thought better to leave before we ached! And it was very close, but Dad won! That was a good Christmas present, especially as we all got to share it.
