I popped Alex on the train for Manchester airport, on his way to Budapest, and the following day my friend Beth arrived from Kent. She is my oldest friend, we were actually born together and our mums were friends too. well, the weather was atrocious really. On Wednesday we decided to have a look on the high aqueduct at Froncysyllte but we were almost blown off. We thought we'd try going over in a boat, but that couldn't make any headway and we had to be pushed back by a kindly passing cyclist or we'd be there still. The water in the channel was blowing like spray on the prom! Vey exciting. The following day it poured with rain non stop, though we got an early dog walk in the dry. And Dad invited us out for lunch because it was his wedding anniversary, and because he's fond of us! So a good time was had in spite of the weather. .

Off to Budapest
how exciting for Alex - hope he has a good time. Looks like you had some horrible weather but still managed to get out and do something. I remember having a marble run but it was plastic!
