First ever blog post!

We should probably start by saying that we haven't had the best luck in the run up to this trip with much anguish and stress caused (mostly to Rach because Tom is a "cool character" R.Pearson, 2012)! Two and a half weeks before we were meant to leave Tom had a minor rugby related mishap resulting in several tendons being torn of the back of his knee, followed by an operation and several weeks of sitting with his foot up and not able to do an awful lot, so plans had to be changed.



Rach a.k.a. Archie (name chosen by Bella Morgan aged 18months) is about to set off in few days time, if her passport comes back in time from the Vietnamese Embassy (just another thing that could potentially go wrong!!) Unfortunately she is heading off on her own for the first 6 weeks to teach English in Siam Reap. On the 30th November Tom will fly into Bangkok (Rach hopes) and start our trip properly, which was meant to start on the 19th September (still a sore point with Rach)!

Enough of that anyways, here's a few of our plans, things we want to see, things we want to do while we are travelling through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in no particular order!


• Get a picture sitting on an elephant...so Rach can use it as her cover photo on facebook
• Cuddle a tiger...because it could be a profile picture you see (Rach)
• Get an awesome tan...very important (Rach) "What's the point of going away for 6 months if it's not even going to be sunny!?" R.Pearson, 2012
• Sea kayaking in Krabi after all our practice in West Wales
• See the temples of Angkor Wat at sunrise
• Learn to cook Thai style!
• Watch a Muay Thai fight, maybe have a go ourselves!
• Eating Thai cuisine from market stalls
• Ride a Moped around SE Asia
• 15p for a beer in Vietnam
• Scuba Dive/snorkel the great barrier reef
• Survive the Full Moon Party on New Years Eve
• Go Tubing in Vieng Veng...looks epic!
• Go to the Sydney Ice Bar
• Trekking in New Zealand - Abel Tazman
• Australia Zoo - Hug a koala because you can use it for another good facebook profile picture (Rach)
• Surfing on Bondi Beach
• Drive around Oz in a camper van - everyone seems to do that!
• White and Black Water rafting in NZ
• Bungee Jumping if someone isn't too much of a jesssy!
• Driving 4x4 around Fraser Island
• Bathing in the hot sands in New Zealand
• Generally have an incredible time and make everyone back at home very jealous



The list could go on! More updates to follow soon as rach experiences travelling from Bangkok to Siam Reap on her own.
