We were unsure what to expect at Llandudno, as we had read about it and it seamed interesting and it was close to the sea. After finding our Hostel on the beachfront we found out that we had booked a cheap Hotel and that some of the Hostels we had stayed at were nicer. We didn't want to let this affect what we thought of Llandudno as we really only wanted a place to sleep. We went to Conwy Castle and looked around there for a while. This is one of the better castles that we have seen as there has been no extensive renovations to it. The only thing they are doing is renovating the stairs to make them safe to use, otherwise it is left as is. We could imagine how people lived back ... read more

Wales, Conwy & Caernferon, ie. excuse to add pictures The glorious Conwy Castle and exploration of the town. Doves & pigeons (are doves just white pigeons?). In this castle King Louis had himself a private privy built, eh. We looked down it. You really can’t understand Welsh at all. It is a lovely sounding language though. Hand gestures gets ye by. ... read more

...Full Of Beautiful People That Speak Funny!! Out of the capital and back on the train, I had a full day of travel ahead of me. From Cardiff across to Heresbury, a rail replacement bus to Shewersbury, and back onto a train to get into North Wales. Not a good start when the first train runs twenty minutes late before even boarding. Luckily, the bus waited for us at Heresbury for the replacement service but dropped us of two minutes after the next train connection left. It was an hour wait for the next one which then made me reach my final destination at around 8pm. One hell of a day!! On a brighter note though, I got to see a lot of countryside including some of the places my father used to talk about going ... read more

In Llandudno anyone shouldn't get into trouble with park car for free. We didn't pay because we parked just into the town centre. Llandudno is located amongst hills and we noticed Wales is very clean, no litter over the street like in England. Town looks similar to any town from southern Europe - palms were planted at the fronts of many hotels, especially at the promenade. Generally Llandudno is colorful and bilingual - pretty much of its population speak in Welsh. We had a lunch in one the restaurants and after we directed to Llandudno's pier. Afterwards we directed out from town and straight up to Great Orme/Y Gogarth peninsula. Beware of seagulls overthere. :D They are really big and very greedy for your food. :L ... read more

Neuropsychologists know that the way the human mind experiences time is largely dependent on mechanisms in our brain that we are born with. Every human being has a brain "biorhythm." This is the general "pulse" of electricity through the brain. It can vary in different environments between thousandths of a second and about 3 or 4 seconds. This biological timepiece effects the way cognition and memory process information; the more shocking, novel, boring, or detailed our input is, the more we'll deem the time as "dragging". That is to say, if it requires lots of memory processing of small details (especially if they are related to the body) time seems protracted. However, if you are doing a complex task (processing lots of small details), but that task is routine, then time seems compressed--it seems to go ... read more

A beautiful Autumn weekend in Wales. We stayed in Llandudno (pronounced - clan-duidno) which is a "seaside" town in north Wales, about an hour and a half from Manchester. It looked quite the typical British Seaside town - with the big hotels lining the street across the road from the beach, and the promenade and of course the Pier. we also took a day trip through to Conway and saw the castle. All in all a really great weekend - I will be heading back to Wales ASAP, once I have work and money.... read more

Well, as of right now I'm sitting in the Ty Coch Inn on the beachfront in Morfa Nefyn, on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. I drove down (or up I suppose) to Wales on Friday to have one more weekend visit with my Nain (welsh for grandmother), Aunts, and cousins. On Saturday a few of us went out hiking down a river, then swam in the river at Cwm Pennant (pronounced Coom Pennant, as far as this canadian can figure). Today I'm spending the afternoon on the beach, and in the pub updating my blog. Tomorrow, if you can believe it, I'm going skiing with my 15 year old cousin Taran in Llandudno. The pub is closing, so I'm off, but I'll be back on soon...With pictures and video!!!... read more

Dear Boys and Girls, Camille and I took a trip down to the country of Wales. In order to get there we drove through the country of England. We stayed in a town on the coast called Llandudno. It was very pretty. You could walk along the water for quite awhile. We hiked up a mountain in the rain and there were sheep all around us! While we were there we also visited a castle called Caernafon. No one lives in the castle anymore because all that remains of it are the walls and towers, but it is still beautiful. We found out that this castle is where Prince Charles of Wales had his coronation. Camille also got the chance to dance to some bag pipers. She loves them! On the way home from Wales we ... read more

I’ve officially had my first “holiday” and what a great one it was. There was no school on Friday or Monday. I have no idea why we were off; I never got around to asking. Elizabeth picked me up on Thursday after school and we headed south to Wales. It didn’t take long at all. We were at our B and B by 7:00 that night. We stayed in the town of Llandudno. As soon as I saw the scene, I knew we would have fun. The beach was a large crescent with two large rocks at each end. There was a wide promenade to walk from one end to the other and a long pier to walk out as well. The buildings were all beautiful with plenty of wonderful pubs and restaurants to choose from. ... read more
