Our journey southwards continued on single track roads through the pretty village of Sheildag, around the wonderfully remote Applecross Peninsular where a large bird flew over us which we thought was likely to be a Sea Eagle and then over the 2045 high Bealach na Ba Pass to Lochcarron.

At Lochcarron we left the North Coast 500 route and continued on fast roads through Glen Shiel with its Five Sisters mountains to a pleasant campsite close to Loch Garry.
