This blog entry is coming a day late due to us having literally no internet access or phone signals yesterday! Today started pretty early as again we were keen to beat the crowds on the walkway and be the first for a change. After a lovely breakfast in Glengarry B and B we set off into a somewhat dull and slightly windy morning. We made good ground and had covered around 3 miles within the first hour. The landscape had changed from the gentle slopes and forest to the more Barron moors and imposing mountains. Yvette needed the loo...again and thought she was in a good position where no one could see, only for a train to pass in full view!

The wind picked up and at one point a gust appeared, almost taking the feet from below us. Alan and jenny ploughed on a bit on front only to be confronted with a massive flock of sheep charging towards them. They stopped dead in their tracks but the sheep kept on coming, eventually veering off the track as we got closer.

Today was the shortest day in terms of distance with only 9 miles being covered. We ascended further into the hills and he wind picked up. Alan and jenny climbed to the highest point and had to pin their walking poles into the ground to keep them upright. Rain was threatening to come down but the white building that was our hotel came into sight. As we got to the bottom, the rain started to pour. We got into the hotel...or was it a time warp? We felt that we were now back in time and were half expecting basil faulty to come around the corner. Jenny treated us to a massage at her spa...the bedroom... Before we went downstairs.

The lounge smelled and looked like an old folks home while the bar smelled of feet and wet dog. We caused some commotion in the bar when we pressed the service bell maybe just a few times too many. We moved to the lounge where went a nice couple from Ayrshire as well as 3 French guys. It was a bottle of a struggle trying to communicate... Them in pigeon English and us with a mixture of English and French words. 4 young guys from Glasgow also came in and we got talkjng to them About ghosts. Apparently room 5, their room, is haunted by a grey lady. We left and couldn't resist playing a joke on them. We sat a piece of paper outside their door and used the contents of a tea bag to spell boo! On it. We then placed a bible next to it for good Measure. the laughs were hilarious when they eventually did come up the stairs. The talk of ghost and haunting made Alan feirt and he pulled in his mattress from the other room to make sure he was safe! However Kirsty decided it would be funny to gently poke him with her walking le
