Bridge of Orchy Day FourBridge of Orchy Day FourBridge of Orchy Day Four

The view from the climb out of the B.o.O
Thursday

Set out again at eight. While I was packing everything up, lots of people where walking past. Most left from the hotel and bunkhouses. Had a steep climb to begin with and eventually the path joined up with the old military road into Fort William. Meet a few folk on the way to the Kingshouse.
Walked for a last few miles to there with Ian. Arrived just after twelve and had some soup and a sandwhich for lunch. Ian bought me a pint of cider which i enjoyed, but it was a bit early in the day for it to be honest.
Decided to push on to Kinlochleven. Put my ipod on and listened to some podcasts. Listen to the Now show and a few football programmes. The walk was mentally tough. Long stretches where you can see for miles. Then I had to climb the Devil's Staircase. Was a tough climb and stopped half way up for twenty mins. Could have slept on the ground for a few hours. The rest gave me an a burst of energy which i used to get over the mountain and continue on to Kinlochleven.
On the way down the path

walking into a small village(cant remeber its name) 3 miles past Bridge of Orchy
was very rocky and it was hard to put your feet flat on the ground. near the end it was also a steep decline. Seen Kinlochleven in the distance, but it is decieving as to how far away it is. Pushed on down the mountain past losts of water works(dams and pipes).
Was delighted to get to the campsite and after i paid for the night, i laid down on the ground for a good half hour before i unpackeded my tent.
Ended up talking to a guy in the campsite for a while and he went with me to the shop in the village. Picked a few things up and went to the fish and chip shop. Sat inside and met another guy from Glasgow who i talked to a few times over the week. We ended up going to the pub for an hour and watched the news and a bit of the Spurs and Sevilla game.
Headed back to the campsite and went and had my first shower in two long, warm, sweaty days.
