We continue to enjoy the great outdoors and can’t offer up too many complaints about the weather. The last two weekends have been filled with some phenomenal hiking. Two weeks ago we went to a small village named Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond and did a bit of hill walking. This past weekend we spent the weekend in Pitlochry. This village is further up north in the Highlands. It was a great couple of days. We left early Saturday morning and drove through some really scenic country and many quaint villages. Upon arriving in Pitlochry, we took one of the five loop trails that extend into the surrounding woodlands of the town. Hey Everyone! Just a letter about our trip to Pitlochry and the Blair Athol Distillery. Ray and I got up really early in the hopes that we could be happily motivated to go on the trip. It worked! We were up, showered, packed and ready to head out on our Saturday adventure to Pitlochry and the Blair Athol Whiskey Distillery. We were looking forward to a day for just the two of us away from the stresses of school, paper writing, and job hunting. The day was slightly overcast, but relatively warm. Geo: 56.835, -3.47279A pleasant drive through the Scotish lowlands/ countryside, eventually saw us arrive in a small town called Pitlochry around about 6pm. We checked into a local bed and breakfast and then set off for a bit of exploring. Found a nice pub on the end of the town, and then stopped off for fish and chips.Finally, we found a better pub fairly close to our accomodation. Turned out to be a fairly humerous night out, due to the fact that there was Karioke playing! haha. Karioke is often funny at the best of times, but SCOTTISH karioke was really somethin.... read more
