So after hanging out in the Toronto Airport, we were finally on our way to London. Even though I'm not much of a social drinker, I of course couldn't pass up champagne on the plane. The ride seemed oddly short, and then we settled into the BMI lounge for our 6 hour lay over.

After being a half hour late (which isn't that bad since the queue to take off out of London always seems crazy), we grabbed a taxi to take us to our flat at 1 Grassmarket (and no, I did not seen anything for the Royal wedding of Zara Phillips that was happening at Holyrood House on the way). Our flat is pretty great - spacious for Edinburgh. And while the towels are a touch small and thin (we seriously bought new ones at BHS because we're picky), and I would love to give the bathroom a Moey cleaning, it's a nice flat. It, of course, exits right out onto the famous Grassmarket with a spectacular view of the castle from our window. The Grassmarket was previously where many public executions occurred, but now has a ton of eateries and pubs.

Trust me, Cor is sleeping very comfortably. :)
my friend who lives in Edinburgh, we met up with another friend and headed over to the Red Box Noodle Bar on West Nicholson. A little noodle shop that has what all Reginans wish that we could have with our takeout - the little Chinese takeout boxes. It was really good and hot....but the restaurant was crazy packed since it's right by the University of Edinburgh.

Next we tried to hit a couple of pubs around the Grassmarket. I kind of lost a day, so I didn't realize that it was Saturday, so there were a bunch of crazy stags and hen parties about. We had a drink at the White Hart Inn on the Grassmarket, but after it got too busy, we moved over to the Dragonfly cocktail bar on West Port, just off of the Grassmarket. Jemma and I both had El Diablos, that were pricey at 6.50GBP, but definitely worth it. They actually taste the cocktails before they serve them to make sure that they are just right. Cor and I made it until about 11:30, but since we had all of 2 hours of sleep in 36 hours, we ended up being lamos and headed
