A Trip to Loch Lomond Last week, a couple of friends and I went up to Loch Lomond, but I've just started to keep this journal so I have some catching up to do. It was my first trip outside of Edinburgh since arriving in January and although tiring and (ultimately) very wet, it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to continue my exploration of Scotland. Lochs and Loch Lomond A Loch is either a lake or a sea inlet and Scotland has many of them. Loch Lomond is Scotland's largest Loch by surface area (although Loch Ness is the largest by volume), measuring 24 miles in length. Loch Lomond was written about in the song, Loch Lomond.
