J.K. Rowling House
My new friends house - J.K and me are like xthisx! YAY PHOTOS NOW!
Well hidy ho diddly diddlers from sunny Scotland. Yep Sunny. I think we must have brought it with us from Oz. Well its been a big week since my last update, apart from the fact that half the time we have needed to use matchsticks to keep our eyes open after getting up for work at 5:30am every morning and not getting til after 7:15pm we also have had some extra curricular activity. Friday night was supposed to be another HUGE night out at a local bowlie. Turned out to be a bit of a fizzer, not many people, but our band mate Nige played for us anyways and we made the best of a funny situation.
Now, if I hadn’t physically seen Loch Ness myself the last time I was here… I would seriously be wondering whether Loch Ness really exists….. and you would be too if you had my cousin as a tour guide! Once they realized they were lost they tried to trick us my telling us that the sea was Loch Ness… NOT FUNNY. Lucky I have the brains to know the difference… Kate might have been gullible enough to
New sleeping bag
My new sleeping bag! have believed it, especially with her sense of direction but I pointed her in the right direction. So seems my cousin and husband had never been up there either. Saturday we headed up to Aviemore with puppies in tow as Derek had sold one of his puppies, puppies whom got car sick - it wasn’t quite warm enough to have the windows down whilst traveling 100k’s but the smell made the cold worth it!! Aviemore is a pretty little snow town on the way up through the highlands just before Inverness (where apparently Loch Ness lies… yet to be seen along this trip). Nice drive though, even whilst hungover. Was a bit misty, there was snow on top of mountains but the sun was out.
On the way back home through he very scenic route, we stopped in Aberfeldy and visited Derek’s mate Mike and his wife Bridget. Bridget’s a kiwi so the kids sort of sounded a little Aussie (4 gorgeous kids). Lovely couple who have just built a beautiful property right across the view from J.K. Rowling’s house and because they’re all such friendly locals and neighbours we got to meet her!!! Kate is such a huge
Mini Lighthouse
Midget Lighthouse? Harry Potter fan, got books signed and was even given an early ‘limited edition’ of the new one!! It’s gonna take us a while to recover from that visit, very exciting, fascinating woman!! I think Kate’s happy to come home now, her life is now complete! LOL. Pic’s attached, After our ‘starstruck’ afternoon we went to a beautiful restaurant and I had mussels and seared scallops - it was DELISH, mmm mmm mmmmmmm.
Got home really late and tried to have a big sleep in, my parents must have telepathy and called nice and early. Spent the rest of the day vegging and watching a few movies - was nice to just sit and relax!!
So our living situation has been sorted. We are moving out on Sunday into the city, walking distance from wok (love it!) and sharing with other Aussies!! I liked the idea that it was with aussies and a good way to meet some other people…. Everyone please cross your fingers they’re not axe murderers. If we get along, maybe we can even have a Barbie. It’s a 2 story place with 6 bedrooms, have to climb abut 4 flights of stairs to get
Lighthouse Crail Coast
Lighthouse Crail Coast to the front door (should be interesting after the pub on a Friday night)… hope the stairs are comfy. The whole place has just been refurbished, floors, plumbing re-done and new kitchen, it was still a work site when I saw it, so fingers crossed its all finished and looking good on the weekend. But the guy that owns it is really nice and even offered to put us up somewhere else this week. So only 4 more days of these hours, we can do it!! Saturday heading in to see Footloose the musical, should be good, may put me in the mood to shake my groove thang. Heading to Edinburgh Castle in July to see ‘Pink’ in concert - should be cool.
We’ve also booked a long weekend over to London by train on the 4th May, heading over to do some touristy stuff and catch up with my friend Brooke who is there at the moment. Also heading over to Dublin for 5 days on 24th May, really looking forward to that as I’ve never been, so hopefully we fit a bit in in 5 days.
Well, that’s about it for me folks, eyes are starting
to close, have to get those matchsticks out again. Once again, thanks to everyone for all your e-mails, makes me feel closer to home and its nice to know what everyone’s up to.
Love to all xoxoxoxox
Hopefully I live to tell you all whether our new roomies are axe murderers or not? Aussie, aussie, aussie!!
GO PIES AGAIN!!!!!
Please note: details involving J.K. Rowling (excluding house) may have been exaggerated…… or just plain made up…. Must have been writers inspiration seeing her house….. come on!! Like you believed me anyway, LOL!!! Mwahhhhaaahaaahaaaa
