Dear All And so here is my third and final blog entry on my amazing mid-winter trip to Northern Ireland in February. As mentioned, although the trip was only four days in length, I feel I packed so much into it, that I am so glad to be able to write three separate blog entries about it. Upon booking my trip, it was quite easy for me to make the decision of spending one day in Belfast and one on ... Read Full Entry

Waht a great get away
It looks like you had a great time. Nice to recharge the batteries with a quick trip. The Bolivia border experience and Che connection was very interesting. I look forward to more of your adventures.

Getting to Grips with History
Thank you for taking us on this journey and getting some insight into what led to the issues that you grew up with. During my short stay in the UK, I , too, was impacted - my office was destroyed in the 1996 Manchester bomb. Thankfully, I wasn't there when it happened (but some of my coworkers were, and for several horrible hours we didn't know if they were alive), but dealing with the aftermath was not fun.

Thank you
Thank you for reading. Gosh, what an experience for you in Manchester. Yes, I remember the incident very well. Indeed, I didn't realise it would, but the trip really helped me understand the issues which I grew up with and which affected Northern Ireland and beyond for quite some time. I feel much better educated and informed about it all now.

The Troubles
We found this part of the world fascinating. We need of all the conflict from the past but we were young when it happened and didn't have historical events correct in our minds. It is always a wonder to go to locaitons like this and get a feel for significant events from the past. The people were amazingly resilient.

The Troubles
Indeed, I completely agree. My visit to Northern Ireland helped me make much greater sense of The Troubles which happened during my childhood. It has been a very complex situation which does not seem easily solvable. Indeed, I also encountered great resilience in the people.
