I think I missed this one
We traveled for about 7 hours today and did 13 locks. We ran aground and got run aground one time each ... Which meant we got to use the pole to push off the banks both times. A useful exercise each time. I did pretty good piloting the boat...only hit one bridge and one boat and both times I was able to give the crew enough warning to brace themselves. Other than that I was amazing! Dave remains consistently amazing and not worth talking about his skills here. Andy loves to do the locks and can do the entire job himself.

We ran into really friendly people today. One time I thought mom was about to get adopted she talked so long. We have decided though that if we were to move here, we would need to get a dog so that we would have company whilst we were walking. Lots of neat sites - we stopped and visited the old church you will see in the pictures.

The weather was surprisingly OK today. We were thinking it would be rainy, windy and cool - but it was really only a little cool. Hopefully we will have equally good

This is Andy's favorite part
weather tomorrow.

For dinner tonight we went to a pub that was doing a trivia night. We Americans did manage a few answers the group did not know - but the specific English geography and political questions left us stumped. Hooray for us though that we knew the Springfield of Simpsons fame was in Oregon .... Andy knew that. Mom - with her cross word puzzle and Jeopardy skills - was the only thing that saved us from absolute humiliation.

Another great day today ...Tomorrow we have a choice of canals to make - onto Stone or Great Haywood. The locals as equally split on the merits. So we will see what we decide to do tomorrow.
