I guess having two parents who both have wonderlust for travel, and who met while living oversea's, it shouldn't be suprising that Lexie took to the skies, and travelled such a long distance, like a duck to water. We followed all the advice kindly given, fed her on the ascent and descent, and she didn't even peep the entire journey, and happily passed the time, sleeping (at least 8 hours!), playing with her toys and winning over the entire cabin crew, and nearby passengers, by smiling, giggling and screaming with delight at all attention given. That's my girl!! So many people commented on what a gorgeous, and happy baby she is - thank goodness for that!
On arrival at Birmingham airport, she was happy in the Baby Bjorn sling on her daddy's chest, and delighted both sets of grandparents with big beaming smiles, and more squeals of delight as we joined them in the arrivals hall.
On arrival at Granny & Grampy's house in Harvington, Uncle Roo & Auntie Sarah had arrived, and she won them over straight away, with her chatting, and
At Granny & Grampy's house
Lexie & Helen In the kitchen at mum and dad's. telling stories of her trip to a besotted audience. What a star. Andy & I still can't believe how easily she took it all in her stride and was so calm and placid and didn't get distressed at all.
The next day was Sunday, and the Simmons family joined the Greys for the day, and Lexie was again centre of everyone's attention - still happy, still chatty, still squealing! She was very pleased to be reunited with Nanny & Grandad, and Andy's nan, Mamma. Some family photo's were taken to record the occassion, and a lovely lunch enjoyed while Lexie recharged her batteries in her stroller in the summer sunshine - 26 balmy degrees.
This first week is planned to be a quieter one, so as to allow us all a chance to acclimatise - and Lexie is leading the way, by getting quickly back into her routine, and is now sleeping 10 hours at night, and we hope tonight might be back to her normal 12 hours, so waking at 6am rather than 4am!
Suffice to say, she hasn't missed a beat and is happily enjoying her family time. I will publish another blog later in
