Tuesdays LOW: Waking up after a great night. Tuesdays HIGH: Jumping out my window to play in the snow. Todays LOW: My cannibalism class. Todays HIGH: Playing spoons and burrow. So as I said before, Monday night was a lot of fun, which made Tuesday morning not so fun. But I had a meeting with a history professor about taking his class instead of my impossibly hard psyc class. I was really happy about that. Then I went to the lib and tried to find some materials to read for some of my classes. The structure of a course is very different here in the way that here, there is much more emphasis placed on each student to do work out of the classroom. Therefore, there arent as many hours of lecture, but you really have ... read more

Saturdays HIGH- Finding shoes!! Saturdays LOW- Realizing the price was wrong and finding out they were $70! Sundays HIGH- Watching the football (soccer) game at the Union. Sundays LOW- Finding out the Patriots lost. Mondays HIGH- World Banana. Mondays LOW- Thinking about my major and realizing that none of my classes have anything to do with Event and Wedding Planning. So Saturday I went to Birmingham for the afternoon. I caught the bus from campus to the train station to find out that the rail station wasnt running trains until Monday. They had busses to replace the trains, so I waited for one of those. I think it was cheaper which was worth an extra 25 mins there and back. So I got in to Birmingham and went to a TJMaxx, it was so weird seeing ... read more

Yesterday's LOW: Walking and to and from that horrible seminar. Yesterday's HIGH: All of us cracking up listening to Melissa and her mom on the phone. The conversation involved a mouth, a "bottom", and a sore...it was interesting. Today's LOW: Spending a lot of money on the first dinner I cooked for the flat. Today's HIGH: Having everyone LOOOOOVE the meal...and then watching Peep Show. (Its not what it sounds like, but its hilarious). So yesterday I had my last class of the week. My schedule is really uneven with a bunch of classes on Monday and Wednesday, one on Thursday, and none on Tuesday or Friday. So that one Psyc seminar was the only thing holding me back from a long weekend. I decided to wear a skirt and heals knowing that I wouldnt have ... read more

Well, what a year it's been! I must admit that it's nice to be home, despite the freezing climate - the snow actually seemed pretty and quaint rather than the usual pain in the ass (funny how a year in the sun can addle the brain!) Naturally the biggest highlights are seeing my family and friends again, but I'm also loving the small things that you come to take for granted before setting off with just a backpack full of essential items; sleeping in your own bed, not having to check out by 10 for fear of losing your key deposit, not having to take everything into the shower with you, not having to write your name on everything before putting it in the fridge, not having to lock your stuff away every night before bed ... read more

Hello, well i think i am getting the hang of this travelblog thing, but don't hold your breath. The location above is not bad but i am not from Birmingham, close though Walsall, which is about 18 miles north of lovely Birmingham. Staying with my in-laws, (Helen and Richard) until Sunday the 21st of January then off to Antarctica via South America. It has been fantastic catching up with my daughters, Hayley and Stacey, especially the fact that no one knew that i was arriving in the UK, seeing everyones face when i knock on their doors and greeted with the words what the bloody hell are you doing here!!! Seeing Hayley on Saturday 13th of January was especially good as it was her 21st Birthday the day before, once again Happy Birthday mate! My wife ... read more

LOW of the Day: Its a toss up between showing up to another empty lecture room, and talking about cannibalism for two hours. HIGH of the Day: The dance party I had in my room between classes. Im a PiPhi in every country. (PS-the only thing I have in the fridge is like 5 different kinds of cheese, yogurt, and cider...and we all know, you can tell youre a PiPhi when youre obsessed with cheese.) So yesterday I didnt do much of anything. With a change in my class schedule, I dont have classes on Tuesday OR Friday...very nice. So, naturally, I woke up late and bummed around the flat and watched some CSI. After dinner we all sat around and scared the crap out of my flatmate, Melissa, because she has suiter...who might be a ... read more

So yesterday I slept in...and by that I mean that after going to bed around 7am, I didnt wake up until 230pm. I just kinda bummed around and watched CSI on my comp. Then we all had dinner and watched the worst TV shows ever. We watched this animal explorer thing that followed a baby wildabeast (sp?) and the guys I was watching it with were just waiting for the brutal carnage of it. It was disturbing. Then we watched the "Worlds Worst Police videos". Half of them took place in NoWhere, USA and I had to defend myself against the stupidity of some Americans. But there was a clip of a crazy jail break that happened in England, which made me feel better. We waited for the last flat mate to finally get back to ... read more
