Well I should have been in a villa in Portugal but hey ho even though Portugal on the 22nd August was given a travel corridor pass and I booked it then lovely Boris decided to take it off the corridor so thank god I booked everything through Trailfinders as they sorted everything out and, guess what, already we have been reimbursed! Go trailfinders!!
So where would we go was my thought and as since lockdown I am now a walker I thought the Cotswold Way. Mike came to the rescue and found the Crowne Plaza at a brilliant price so off we went.
With guide in hand we started from Chipping Campden to Stanton. Well all started well and the first part of the walk to Broadway is very picturesque and we met a couple of gentlemen at the start however they were doing the circular so it was no good following them ha ha. Anyway we get to Broadway and who walks in the cafe, the same gentlemen - they cheated though and went back and got their car (now I know they had a lot of sense - read on). So after Broadway and the stop at
Stanton
Picturesque or what - just don't try and get a bus!! the cafe we started on the next section to Stanton.
If you have read any of my other posts you will probably see I did the Milford Trek and at one stage said that is it I am not walking another step and stamped my feet, typical diva or what. Anyway so we get to Stanton after me throwing a paddy again - how long!! - are we there yet!! ha ha and look for the bus stop to get us back to Chipping Campden - well up and down the road we go - can we find the bus stop NO but my step count is going up and up.
Now I have to tell you that I am in a workweek hussle with one of my sisters and a niece. Now this niece Carla wins every week (anyone who knows me knows this really f..ks me off) but today she is seeing every time she looks at fitbit that I have done another 5k, ha ha I am on a winning streak for this week!! However as you can imagine as a total control freak I have to work out how we get back to our car - so after lots of talks with anyone who is around local or not I then talk to workmen!! But does anyone know how we get back to Chipping? A lovely local lady tells me there is a phone box which might help - it's actually been transformed into an Information Centre!
So I ring lots and lots of taxis and guess what they work for themselves and yes finished early - but then I get through to Tina who agreed to stop cooking her stir fry and pick us up - Go Tina Go. We are now back in the Crown Plaza and working out our next stage - wait for it, tomorrow could be worse!!
