Some of you have wondered - both publicly, and privately to me - whether this whole trip has been rainbows and unicorns, and/or if the travel has wearied me. As I wind down my last weeks in England, I can say that while the overall trip, discoveries and experiences have been PHENOMENAL, there have been trying times, places and people along the way. And it will be a relief not to be constantly researching and figuring out where to go next, how to get there and what the neighborhood/accommodations will be like. Take, for example, my current (four night) stay in Royal Leamingtom (“Lemmington”) Spa. I opted for a modest AirBnB room ($70ish per night once fees are added) in a vegan house, because it was well located and the owners offer transit from/to the rail ... read more

Hi it is Ruth blogging today - probably because we had a day of shopping or rest as I like to call it! Wandered around Leamington Spa today beautiful town and had a nice lunch in the park then headed out to Warwick again to go for a lovely walk through the wheat fields. Stumbled accross a little cottage in need of some DIY but you can check it out in the pics. Had dinner at the Cricketers Arms just around the corner and have decided it is currently ranked number one pub of the trip, great food, great atmosphere oh and Andrew says great ales. Also Lucy is modelling some new items that perhaps we may have found when checking out the historical shop fronts in town :-) Rxx... read more

Well team, I'm soon to be off on my epic journey, overland across Russia, Mongolia, China and Cuba. For those of you I'm useless at keeping updated with, here is a brief plan of action: Russia 11th April - Fly to St. Petersburg! Over the next month I will be getting the train across Russia, stopping off at St. Petersburg - Venice of the North. Moscow - Place where lots of Communist things happened Ekaterinsburg - Notorious for 2 things: The brutal murder of the Tsar and family, and a bloody Gangland feud in the 1990's. Awesome... Irkutsk & Lake Baikal - Central Siberian town, and the lake is the deepest lake in the world. Mongolia Ulaan Baatur - Capital of Mongolia, An unusual fusion of Soviet and East Asian cultures. Also Genghis Khan came from ... read more

Dear all... "Lonely in Leamington" is all about a Student of Health and Social Care who recently flew from Desert of Kutch (India) to Leamington Spa which, for him, is more than imagination. The place is so beautiful that He feels it is devaluation of its beauty if describe by words. So let it remain in Thoughts/natural feeling. Here I am enjoying Nature with Highest satisfaction but yet "Alone" when you'll see my first blog, you may better understand what I mean. Anyway.. Just a quick note (and probably a very boring entry for anyone that wasn't there - sorry!) to say thank you all so much for coming to wave us off. We had a truly fantastic evening and it was lovely to catch up with everyone, I just wish we could've had a little more time to gossip even further!! Thought you might like to see a few pics from that Sat - especially as we don't all get together that often!....as usual I got carried away chatting and didn't take as many pics as I would've liked, lets hope I remember while we're away, otherwise I suspect there'll be trouble!!!! Anyway, thanks again!!... read more

A trip home is good at any time of the year - but especially during the holiday season. The only down side was that I had to leave Mike at home as he was working over Christmas. I found the cheapest flight from Vancouver to London Gatwick which left on December 17th. With a few tweaks and trades with my work schedule I managed to get the time off and then found a fairly cheap deal to come back on January 9th. All booked, all set and away I go. I landed into Gatwick on the 18th and was greeted by the smiley face of Mr Bell. It was great to see him and even better, Alan was in between jobs which meant we had lots of time to catch up. As well as being in ... read more
