Ok so heres where it all begins.... well kind of! Had such a mental last couple of weeks since entering the world of unemployment (which kicks ass by the way)... road trip to newquay for a week surfing turned into a beer fest of a week that resulted in my new found beer gut which im soooo not happy about- bring on the lipo when i get to miami hehe or i guess i could just do some exercise... what.... efforts must be doubled if the bikini is to come out in public!! Also went to my friends champagne-fuelled wedding (who is also the best ex-boss ever) which i donned a dress for haha only get the dresses out for very special occasions!! It all begins to get a little scary when you're being invited to ... read more

I decided on bank holiday Monday that it would be cheaper to travel again rather than pay rent on a new flat. So yesterday I booked two tickets, outward to Varna, Bulgaria and returning 5 weeks later from Istanbul, Turkey. Today I need to try and get currency and insurance and a guidebook from the library and maybe a new rucksack. Of all my adventures.. Greece, South America, Dublin, Latvia.. this is the least planned and most stupid. The weblog should be entertaining from the viewpoint of a comfortable armchair, whilst I suffer for your pleasure. If I get encouraging messages back I'll push the danger quota up. Watched Severance at the cinema yesterday, not a good idea straight after buying tickets.... read more

At the Height of his game Theoren Fleury was described as the greatest Hockey Player ever to don a Calgary Flames Jersey. Unfortunately fame and fortune comes with its own set of problems, especially when you are an athlete. Every year, hockey players are given 4 months to rest, relax and prepare for the next season. When that is combined with unlimited cash flow, drugs and ill reputable women usually enter the picture. 4 Months is plenty of time to become addicted to cocaine, as was discovered in the case of Theoren Fleury. What is more surprising is that he managed to become addicted to Trans Fats and Cocaine in the same 4 month period. within hours of this discovery the NHL sent Theo to Europe where he joined the Belfast Giants, who agreed to pay ... read more

We headed into Sheffield to sus out the Internet again, but this time we found the Frog and Parrot pub. It is yet again another authentic pub, Mick had yet another local beer. There was an interesting thing though, there was a vending machine in the ladies toilets that sold vibrators! We noticed an open mike night for the following Monday night, and made a note to remember that! Then we set out to discover the Internet Bar; called Bar Matrix, it opens about midday, and you can use your own laptop or they have a wall of their own computers. The toilets were interesting. Luckily it was very quiet, I went to the men’s by mistake! They have a shared area, then toilets are off towards the back (you were supposed to remember what side ... read more

Sunday is the day Alison and Peter go grocery shopping, so we tagged along to get some supplies we cant do without. Alison was to prepare a traditional English breakfast (brunch time) for Mick complete with black pudding. While we were shopping, Alison said she had ran in to Michael, one of the old farmhands we used to know when Grandad had the farm. Unfortunately Mick and I weren't with her then, we'd walked off on our own to do some investigating... We had completed the shopping and were relaxing back at home when who should come to the door but Michael's brother Stewart! Alison said she hadn't seen either of them for ages, and both on one day was very unusual. Stewart had a family matter to discuss with Alison and Peter, so Mick and ... read more

We set off for Sheffield so that I could experience the VAST Meadowhall Shopping Centre. One of the first places we entered was the Marks & Spencer shop. Marks & Spencer is an institution in England. It was a pretty cool shop with lots of sales going on and seemed a lot like one of its large American counterparts like Belk, or Hecht's, or JCP. Helen told me that just about everyone in the country wears M&S underpants...just a bit of trivia for you. :-) After we had shopped a bit, we went to the Oasis (food court) for lunch. I had traditional English fish and chips at Harry Ramsden's and it was beautiful. It didn't come wrapped in newspaper, but that's okay, it still tasted yummy. Li'l Sis, you should be SOOO jealous, there are ... read more
