Tintern Abbey - the inspiration for romantic poets To continue, we, left Cardiff and drove along the beautiful Wye Valley stopping to view the ruins of Tintern Abbey. We then crossed the Welsh Marches At Hereford to visit the Tudor market town of Ludlow in Shopshire. I had lunch here with a local couple in the town square, it was market day, they had a lot of questions about Canada.
From there we went to Chester for a walking tour of the medieval city walls, the cathedral and the Tudor Rows. It's pretty cool to think you are walking on the same walls king Richard did.
Our travels today ended in Liverpool, we were joined by a local expert who told us tales of the Beatles and other artists part of the Merseybeat as we toured through the city. We made a stop at the Cavern Club, many artists got their start here and still do.
Tomorrow is another early start so I better get my stuff organized, I like it better when we have a two night stop, oh well. I'm having a great time and seeing so much more than I thought possible so it's okay, bob out....

Great blog!
Hi Momma D! I have really enjoyed your blog! I particularly liked the part about the unsmiling soldier and the hungry gull :) Sounds like you are having a super duper time and I'm so glad. I knew you'd wanted to travel there for a long time, but I had no idea it was that long. So glad a dream is coming true for you! Matt told me yesterday he reads your blog every day. Love, love, love Shan xxox
