Greenwich Park
Out of the tube and back in time Day three we headed to Greenwich, travelling on the Underground we arrived right at Greenwich Park full of the most magnificent old buildings, containing institutions such as the Trinity Music School, Greenwich University , National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory. We spent most of the day at the Musuem and the Observatory before grabbing a bite at the Greenwich market and heading back to Westminister along the Thames.
The Royal Observatory was most interesting with a fantastic musuem displaying the history of the Royal Astronomer John Flamsteed and his obsessive charting of the stars at Greenwich and the perils on the 'longitude problem' including a display of Harrison's first four sea clocks.
And of course we straddled the meridian line!
