We decided to take a short break in the holiday hot spot of the north and went to Blackpool. The lights had switched on some two weeks ago and were up to the very high standard we have come to expect from Blackpool and as always were a delight to both young and old and Margaret and I enjoyed them tremendously.Another fact in our favour for the week was the weather it was great, warm, calm and fresh
and suited us both. Our holiday accommodation this time was in a caravan sited down at the Southern end of Blackpool at a place called Marton Mere.As you leave the M55 motorway near the windmill it's just on the left. A beautiful clean and well kept site with both residential and homes to let caravans, the lawns were clean and well tended and a credit to the gardeners who look after it. On site are the usual facilities including a swimming pool of excellent proportions clean warm a truly nice place to relax in and may I add all included in the price.Laundry was included. The site also included a licenced club and the usual camp shop but one needs to be careful with prices of some items
including the beer tending to be a little higher than you would pay at home.
